Management Issue

The biggest management concern I am having right now is the course load. I am taking 6 classes for a total of 18 credits, and my schedule is quite busy. The reason I do this is because I want to finish college in 3 years. I have never taken 18 credits/semester before. The tough part is that most of my classes are related to my Finance major. Because of the way the academic program is set up, I have to take the required course before I can take Finance courses. Therefore, this year will be filled with Finance classes, which will be harder and more challenging than previous semesters were.
I usually go to school and have a job. However, this semester it becomes an issue as I do not want to mess up my GPA. On one hand, I need a job to have some pocket cash; on the other hand, school should be of the main concern to me.
After graduating, I plan on working for some time and then go for my Master's as soon as possible. I believe the younger you are, the easier it is for you to study. Once a family is formed, it is very hard to go back to school.
I guess this whole blog was about managing time efficiently. The people who succeed in life are those who can manage their time resourcefully, which I am yet to experience.

I think that you are doing great thus far. You have taken 6 classes before and have experienced the difficulties and struggles that come along with it. You have managed your schedule so that you can try to graduate in three years and already chose a major. To me, it seems like you have a great plan and you understand yourself well enough to know what you can and cannot handle.
Worrying isn’t so bad either. It sometimes helps to keep one on top of their game. It pushes you to work harder and to try to do well in fear of failing or disappointing yourself or others. I was also pleased to see that you mapped out your future plans too. I guess the only thing I would like to suggest is to just live the present and look towards to the future. Who really knows what really awaits us? As long as you manage your present deadlines and your current in school and out of school situations, you will do fine.

wow, it takes alot of dedication to take 6 claases. I take 5 and work, so we're pretty much in the same boat when it comes to time management. One thing i found is that you must try to have a good work/school/life balance. It tends to get more difficult as we progress throughout college, but it should be a priority. I've found that if you stress yourself out too mush over one factor, the other factors suffer as well. But it seems you have a good head on your shoulders so im sure you can handle it.
Also you make an interesting point with studying and age. Im not so sure that its exactly studying, but i do agree that the younger we are, the bigger load we can carry. Anyways i wish you the best of luck in everything that you do. Just dont forget to save some leisure time for yourself. :)

Wow that is amazing to have such a great goal of finishing in 3 years. I think that your thoughts are correct about school being a priority. Time should be allocated to the most important parts of your day. And finance courses are very difficult. If you can not handle the amount of work, then there should be some time to get your priorities to their proper time amount. You can ask if you can take a shorter workday to be able to study and do your homework. It seems you are only working for pocketchange. So that should not be a problem. You are pushing yourself and it reminds me of what the professor said that companies do to thei employees sometimes and that is to stretch your limits of what you can do, so that you can do great things.

wow 6 classes. good luck on that. I have 5 classes and work and I'm still free for 3 days. For now that is. Wait til the exams come. Don't stress on it too much. I'm sure you'll do fine. Like you said, people who succeed in life are those who can manage their time resourcefully, but don't forget, they also have to gain experience from it first to get where they are now.
